Dawson City

The trip to Whitehorse was uneventful. We saw lots of beautiful scenery and many animals. Dawson City was a fun town. We went to the bar that does the Sour Toe Cocktail, and both Sue and I did the drink with the toe in it. Sue had tequila and I had the traditional Yukon Jack. The toe was gross looking. It is not something I will do again. I got my certificate!

While at the saloon savoring the dead toe, Sue met some folks who insisted we go to the casino and check out the show. It was a good show and the drinks flowed. We were joined by a couple of guys from Switzerland that Sue had met at a bar previously. (Seems to be a pattern). We drank too much. It is a good thing we were less than a block from the RV park.

At Dawson City we crossed the Yukon River on a small ferry. We waited in line for about 45 minutes for our turn. We got a private trip, since there wasn't room for another vehicle after we got on. Low clearance on the front of the D was a minor problem, but the latch for the generator is still attached.
On the other side of the river we started our trip across the Top of the World Highway. Bumpy and dusty with beautiful scenery. Not a good road to drive with a hangover.
